Josh's First (real) Post

We are on day four of the camp today. I shall start by introducing myself. I am Joshua Osborne and am from Armidale. I am 19. Studying at college a B of Arts and B of Laws. I am a very active member of the local state emergency service and am currently undertaking my road crash training. I do a lot of theatre, am part of the youth council and am as active in college life as I can be. The opportunity that this camp has afforded me has been great.

In my life up to a couple of days ago I thought that I was rather in touch with myself, both mentally and emotionally. It appears in my busy life that I have lost touch just a little bit. Not in a drastic 'I need help way' but in what I place as a priority and how much time I give myself. The perfect example is when I was walking to the dining hall. I stopped dead in my tracks and thought 'I forgotten something' touched my pockets, 'where is my phone? where is the SES duty phone? Where is my pager? Where are my car keys (we had handed them in at the start of the camp) and where is my wallet? This is the first week in a long time that i haven't had somewhere to be, needed to worry about turning my phone, the SES phone the pager to silent and when that assignment is due. Time to think and reflect. I needed it to catch my breath and assess where I'm at and where I'm going.

The people too. You can see by their blogs the great people that are here with me. I am meeting and connecting with so many people. I love it.

Forever thankful....

Josh
